At Acupuncture and Wellness of the Palm Beaches, we develop personalized treatment plans for every stage of
your fertility journey whether you are an individual or couple seeking to conceive naturally or via IUI or IVF.

herbal medicine, lifestyle modifications and nutrition to treat a wide range of fertility challenges including:
Abnormal menstruation & ovulation
Endometriosis
Fallopian tube obstructions
Hormone imbalances including elevated FSH
Low sperm count, increased morphology, or poor motility
Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
Poor egg quality or diminished ovarian reserve
Recurrent miscarriage and pregnancy loss
Secondary infertility
Thin uterine lining and decreased cervical fluid
Unexplained infertility
Uterine fibroids, polyps, & cysts
Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to support and regulate the reproductive system in a unique and safe way to enhance fertility and it is our goal to support you through the entire journey.
Our natural fertility support treatment plan is designed to enrich each patient's potential
for conception through the use of traditional medicine and acupuncture.
Enhancing fertility and improving pregnancy success outcomes looks different for each couple
which is why we strive to develop a specialized treatment plan to increase the chances of
conception and healthy full-term pregnancy. Our goal is to uncover and correct the root causes
that are blocking or discouraging your fertility potential.
We recommend starting treatment plans at least three months before conception takes place as
it takes about three months for an egg to mature and studies show that the effects of acupuncture
in regards to ovarian function and vitality can be improved up to 80%!
However, starting treatment at any time is still beneficial to get your body as a whole in the
best condition for conception to occur and each successful pregnancy is unique to each individual.
Improved blood supply and circulation to the uterus and ovaries
Balanced hormones and menstrual cycles to aid in conception
Stress reduction and improved sleep
Improved cervical fluid and uterine lining
Improved sperm quality
Improved egg quality
Acupuncture and Wellness of the Palm Beaches is proud to be a leading referral as well as work
collaboratively with many South Florida fertility specialists and endocrinologists.
For optimal results, we encourage seeing clients twice a week for approximately 1-3 months in
preparation for IUI / IVF, however, that is not a defining factor to the success that acupuncture
will provide. Depending on your health history and presentations, treatment frequency can and
may vary. After your initial consultation a customized plan will be designed for you, including
treatment frequency, herbal medicine prescription, nutrition and lifestyle recommendations.
Please note that we do not prescribe herbal medicine during medicated cycles when working with
your fertility medical doctor or endocrinologist.
It is our highest intention to prepare a woman's body for healthy implantation so that on the
day of embryo transfer there is an increase in successful outcomes.
Increased implantation rates during an IVF embryo transfer
Increased pregnancy rates
Enhanced egg quality & increasing ovarian responsiveness
Inhanced uterine lining and reproductive hormones
Improved sperm quality
Reduced stress and anxiety
Decreased chance of miscarriage and early pregnancy loss
Reduced medication side effects
In the months leading up to the IUI/IVF procedure, we work intentionally to decrease stress, improve healthy uterine lining, improve ovarian function and so much more. Perhaps you learn about the benefits of acupuncture just weeks or a month prior to your procedure, we understand and can assure you that we can still work with you and do recommend at minimum that you invest in the following important dates.
Within 24-36 hours, acupuncture can have a direct effect on decreasing uterine contractions, facilitating ovulation, and supporting healthy progesterone levels by reducing stress. The thickness and quality of the uterine lining can improve due to increased blood flow to the uterus.
Treatment after IUI (following up with 2 acupuncture treatments within the 5-7 days following) is important to support successful implantation and embryo development all while decreasing stress during this stage. Hopefully with a positive pregnancy test clients can graduate to our perinatal support program that supports all trimesters of pregnancy.
We recommend acupuncture pre-egg retrieval, to help relax the cervix and increase blood flow to the uterus. Ideally acupuncture is performed 24-48 hours pre-retrieval.
Acupuncture at this stage can help the body heal from any micro-trauma or inflammation to the uterine tissue after the procedure, and minimize the bloating, distention, and cramps that can come with egg retrieval. The retrieval is an invasive procedure and acupuncture is very helpful to speed recovery and prepare the uterus for implantation. If you are doing a fresh egg transfer, acupuncture will also help create a calm environment for transfer of the embryo.
We recommend acupuncture pre and post embryo transfer to assist your current IVF cycle. Ideally at least 24-48 hours pre and post transfer. Acupuncture treatments at the time of embryo transfer help to promote uterine blood flow, enhance positive implantation, prevent uterine contractions, reduce overall stress, promote relaxation and increase pregnancy success rate.
Our focus is to create an optimal environment for the embryo(s). Following up with 2 acupuncture treatments within the 5-7 days following embryo transfer, in order to further assist implantation and embryo development is encouraged.
PREGNANCY
Acupuncture offers a safe, effective and drug free treatment option during and after pregnancy. Traditional Chinese Medicine views pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal recovery as a window of opportunity to enhance a woman's well being. Today, this care is becoming increasingly popular and used by acupuncturists in conjunction with primary maternity care for conditions such as:
Nausea during pregnancy
Muscular - skeletal pain (Back Pain, Sciatica, Pubic Pain, Pelvic Pain)
Constipation and digestive challenges
Breech and posterior babies
Hypertension
Birth preparation
Labor support
Anxiety
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Headaches
Sinus problems
Tiredness and exhaustion
Acupuncture has been used for centuries to effectively and gracefully prepare and encourage a mother's body towards natural labor. While it is ideal for a mother to have received acupuncture treatment throughout her pregnancy, a pregnant woman can benefit from labor preparation acupuncture with no prior treatment history. Typically 1-3 treatments are needed to get things going, once a mother is at the late stage of her pregnancy. A mother who is post-date should typically receive treatments every other day until labor begins. Of course, it is always encouraged to consult with a doctor or midwife before seeking induction assistance.
